Consumers Credit Union Hires Gary Ferguson, Vice President of Business Services

Kalamazoo, Mich. – Gary Ferguson has joined Consumers Credit Union as Vice President, Director of Business Services. He’s responsible for departmental leadership and growth, including assessing and managing credit risk; growing the loan and deposit portfolio; and developing the business services strategic plan. He’s excited to lead and achieve operational excellence while providing superior member service.

For two decades, Ferguson’s focus has been on developing commercial loan business spanning all sizes and types of industries, including construction, manufacturing, transportation, finance, insurance, real estate, farming, restaurant, service, and non-profit.

Most recently, he worked for Saratoga National Bank and Trust Company as Vice President of Corporate Development in Saratoga Springs, New York. Ferguson is also a collegian All-American from Northwood University where he majored in Business Management/Finance. A native of West Michigan, he looks forward to reacquainting himself with the Kalamazoo community.

Consumers Credit Union Hires Bill Bouma, CFS* Financial Advisor

Kalamazoo, Mich. –  Bill Bouma has joined Consumers Credit Union as a CFS* Financial Advisor, serving the offices of Milham, Centre, Portage Road, Downtown, Gull Road, and Coldwater. Bouma enjoys working with members – and helping them to achieve their savings and investment goals for a comfortable retirement. He’s experienced in all phases of financial planning, including wealth accumulation, 401(k) and IRA rollovers, estate planning, and college funding.  

This year marks Bouma’s 20thanniversary in financial planning. His personal goal is to provide the highest level of service possible to members – and discover what’s important to them. He also holds a BBA in finance from Western Michigan University and has his Series 7 General Securities license, his Series 63 and Series 65 licenses, as well as his Michigan Life and Michigan Health Insurance licenses.

Consumers Credit Union Hires Cindy Lyman, Office Manager for Centre Avenue Location

Kalmazoo, Mich. – Cindy Lyman is the new Office Manager for Consumers Credit Union’s Centre Avenue Office, located at 1511 West Centre Avenue, Portage.  Her primary duties are to build member relationships, accomplish office growth goals, implement new strategies for greater office efficiencies, and look for new and innovative ways to serve members.  Staff development and coaching will also be a top priority for Lyman.    

Lyman has been in banking most of her career, over 20 years, with the last 15 in branch management. Most recently she worked as Vice President, Manager III at Chase Bank in Portage – where she served the Portage community for 12 years. She also worked as a teller at Saginaw Medical Federal Credit Union and Saginaw General Hospital while attending Saginaw Valley State University. Lyman graduated from SVSU with a BBA in Finance.

True to the credit union philosophy Lyman says, “I find a great deal of gratification when I am able to put a smile on someone’s face, maybe even make their day by something I have said or done for them.”
